I had an Rx bar for my snack it was the perfect thing for right after my workout. I do have a question for you...is it more beneficial to eat protein before or after a workout or does timing not really matter?

the timing of protein intake can depend on your personal goals and workout routine. Generally its beneficial to consume protein both before and after a workout. Before a workout it can help prevent muscle catabolism and after a workout it aids in muscle recovery and growth. But remember everyones body responds differently so its about finding what works best for you. Keep enjoying those Rx bars post-workout!

Instructions

  • 1.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • 2.

In a large mixing bowl, combine egg whites, chopped dates, and peanut butter. Mix until well combined.

  • 3.

Fold in the peanuts, vanilla extract, and sea salt.

  • 4.

Spread the mixture evenly in a greased baking dish.

  • 5.

Bake for 15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

  • 6.

Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
