Instructions

  • 1.

    In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and shallots, sautéing until they are soft and caramelized (about 5-7 minutes).

  • 2.

    Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook for an additional 5 minutes until they are tender.

  • 3.

    In a separate pan, cook the ground beef over medium heat, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until browned and fully cooked (about 8-10 minutes).

  • 4.

    Once the beef is cooked, place a slice of Swiss cheese on top and cover the pan to melt the cheese (about 2 minutes).

  • 5.

    To assemble, place a generous amount of the beef mixture on a bed of green leaf lettuce. Top with the sautéed onions, shallots, and mushrooms.

  • 6.

    Serve with carrot sticks on the side for a crunchy, healthy addition.
