Instructions

    In a large bowl, mix the whole wheat flour, protein powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

    In another bowl, whisk together the almond milk, egg, honey (if using), and vanilla extract.

    Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

  • 4.

    Preheat your waffle iron and lightly grease it with cooking spray or coconut oil.

  • 5.

    Pour the batter into the waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions and cook until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.

  • 6.

    Serve the waffles warm with chicken sausage, sliced apples, and a dollop of peanut butter.
